Miro Mode brings the power of Miro’s visual collaboration tool into your Around by Miro Labs (Around) meetings to help your team co-create more effectively and stay engaged. Your team can now gather around a Miro board inside Around and collaborate seamlessly with instant access to new or existing boards.
Connect your Miro account
To create and access Miro boards within Around, you must first connect a new or existing Miro account. From the Lobby, click on your avatar in the top right corner and select Your Account
. Navigate to the Account
tab and click Connect
next to the Miro option under Additional Sign-In Methods
.
Add a Miro board to a room
Create a new Miro board
There are two primary ways to add a new Miro board to a room:
- For rooms where a Miro board has never been used, click on Miro Mode using the Miro button at the top center of the meet window. This will automatically create a new board.
- For rooms where another Miro board is already in use, click the down caret beside the Miro toggle in the top center of the meet window and select
New Blank Board
.
Note: The last Miro board used in a room is immediately available the next time you join, so your team can easily pick up where they left off.
Open an existing Miro board
Open a Miro board you’ve used previously by clicking the down caret beside the Miro toggle in the top center of the meet window and selecting Open Board
.
Use a Miro board template
You also have access to Miro’s library of 300+ board templates with proven workflows to help your team collaborate more quickly and efficiently.
To create a Miro board using a template, start by clicking the down caret beside the Miro toggle in the top center of the meet window and selecting the category that best fits the purpose of the meeting and/or room (Brainstorm, Planning, Retro, or Workshop).
Once you’ve selected a category, you’ll be presented with a list of related Miro board templates. Choose the template that best fits your needs and a new board will be opened so your team can start collaborating.
Using Around meeting templates
Around’s meeting templates package several Around features into a seamless experience that supports specific meeting use cases (e.g. standups). These meeting templates are often centered around a Miro board template.
Miro-centric meeting templates are denoted with a yellow “Powered by Miro” badge
Miro board templates can also be added to a room to establish a default meeting experience. People entering Around rooms with the “Powered by Miro” badge always join in Miro Mode (instead of Campfire, Floating, etc) with all of their content exactly where they left off.
With a new room
To create a new room using a meeting template, navigate to the Around Lobby and click the New
room card under the corresponding Workspace. Next, choose a meet experience from the list of Use cases / Rituals
and a new room will immediately be created. To adjust the room’s settings (eg name, URL, permissions, etc), click the Edit button that appears at the bottom center of the Lobby or click the three dots on the top right of the room card and select Edit Room
.
With an existing room
The default experience of an existing room can be changed in the room’s settings. From the Lobby, click the three dots on the top right of the corresponding room card and select Edit Room
. Use the Room Type
select to choose the desired experience and then save your changes.

I only have a free Miro account. Can I still invite people to collaborate on a Miro board in Around?
